White Springs Retreat is a small boutique retreat of four contemporary suites on a green hillside in Xigia, Zakynthos. Each suite looks out over the Ionian Sea towards Kefalonia and the island’s eastern coastline, with its own private infinity pool.
Inside, the 55 sqm open-plan suites bring together a queen bed, seating area and equipped kitchen. Wide glass doors open onto the terrace, keeping the pool and sea in view even from the bed. The bathroom has a glass-partitioned shower with an outlook towards the water, while stone walls separate the suites for privacy.
Outside, each terrace has an infinity pool with jacuzzi jets, a sunbed, outdoor sofas and a dining area. The two suite categories differ mainly in their outdoor space: one has a 95 sqm terrace, the other a particularly generous 140 sqm terrace.
Xigia and Pelagaki beaches are around a two-minute walk away. Xigia is known for its pebbles and naturally sulphurous water, adding an interesting coastal stop to days spent by the pool.

We like this retreat for couples who want privacy, open sea views and plenty of time outdoors without the feel of a large hotel. The private terraces make it easy to spend the day by your own pool, while two nearby beaches are within walking distance. We would choose the larger terrace for guests who plan to make the most of the outdoor space.

The area
White Springs Retreat sits on a hillside in the Xigia area of Zakynthos, facing the Ionian Sea. Xigia and Pelagaki beaches are approximately two minutes away on foot, with views across to Kefalonia, the Peloponnese and Zakynthos’s eastern coast. Xigia Beach is a small pebble beach known for its natural sulphur springs, which flow into the sea from a nearby cave. Locals have long believed in the therapeutic properties of these mineral-rich waters, giving the beach its reputation as a natural spa. The sulphur lends the water a distinctive milky tint and mineral scent, while the sea near the springs can feel noticeably cooler.
