Minos Palace Resort is an adults-only hotel on a private peninsula between the town of Agios Nikolaos and the village of Elounda, in eastern Crete. The sea is in view all the way round, and in a small enclosed cove is its own sandy beach, which holds a Blue Flag.
There are 101 rooms, 12 suites and 9 bungalows. The Zen rooms are simple, in natural, muted tones, while the Sunrise and Infinity blue rooms have a king bed, a private balcony and a KNX system for the lighting and temperature. The Zen bungalows stand on their own in the gardens, overlooking the private beach. Some suites have a private pool and others share one; in the Waterfall Suite the private freshwater pool measures 5 by 7 metres.
The hotel's outdoor infinity pool is freshwater and looks out to sea, with sunbeds and umbrellas around it and along the beach. There is also a diving and watersports centre, a tennis court, and bikes and e-bikes.
The two restaurants are quite different: amar, on the beach, cooks traditional Mediterranean recipes with a modern touch, while mom, indoors and out, is open all day with an à la carte menu and buffet options. Cocktails at the nama pool bar were created with Baba au Rum, and the mosa beach bar also mixes alcohol-free ones. There is a wine library too, along with an organic herb garden and a vegetable garden.
The nao wellbeing centre is built around diagnostics and personal longevity programmes, resting on four pillars: nutrition, sleep, movement and self-mastery. It has four personalised packages and a range of treatments, and the hotel adds a sauna, massages, an indoor gym and a weekly activity programme.

What drew us to Minos Palace is that the hotel has a private peninsula of its own: sea views on every side and a private sandy beach in a small cove. It suits couples and friends who want days split between the beach, the pool and the wellbeing centre, and the odd trip out to Spinalonga or the villages nearby.
- Views differ by room type, from a partial sea view in the Zen Double Room to panoramic views of Mirabello Bay in others, so it is worth choosing the room with the view in mind.
- Massages and beauty treatments are charged separately, as is the hairdresser, by appointment. The hotel can arrange airport or port transfers and car hire.

The hotel sits on a private peninsula between the town of Agios Nikolaos and the village of Elounda, above Mirabello Bay in eastern Crete. From the Sunset Suite you look across the pool to Agios Nikolaos.
The hotel's team helps plan days out: a visit to Spinalonga, hikes in the gorges, the rural villages of the area, a wine tour and boat trips. Snorkelling and diving can be arranged through the hotel too.
